Armin Mueller-Stahl

During the Berlin Film Festival, 18 February 2011, Actor Armin Mueller-Stahl was Awarded an

HONORARY GOLDEN BEAR FOR LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT.

Armin Mueller-Stahl requested that during the retrospective of his work, the film UTZ by George Sluizer was presented in Berlin in two successful screenings.

Armin Mueller-Stahl considers the film as his favorite from the more than 150 in which he acted.

Netherlands Film Festival honors George Sluizer

On September 29 , during the Netherlands Film Festival in Utrecht, George Sluizer , who is a Honorary Member of the Dutch Feature Film Society  will receive a special homage for the innovative work and masterful films he made during his 45 years career as Producer.

Life Time Achievement Award

On September 19, 2009 George Sluizer will be honored with a Life Time Achievement Award. The Award Ceremony will take place during the International Film Festival  Film by the Sea.

The organization of the Festival  will award Mr. George Sluizer a Silver Mermaid for
Life time Achievement  for his outstanding contribution to Cinema.

In 2003 the Festival honored  Mr. Ettore Scola, in 2004 Mr. Milos Forman and Mr. Saul Saentz, in 2005  Mr. Istvan Szabo, in 2006 Mr. Jonathan Demme, in 2007 Volkert Schlöndorff and Sir Ben Kingsley, in 2008 the Dardenne Brothers.

A retrospective of Mr. Sluizer’s films will be part of the Festival.

Honorary Member of the Dutch Directors Guild.

Variety Cinema Militans Lecture

Director, producer and screenwriter George Sluizer delivers the Variety Cinema Militans Lecture at the Pieter Church in Utrecht during this year’s  Dutch Film Festival.
He gives his vision on Cinema, Communication and education in contemporary and future times.
The Lecture was held in previous years by amongst others,  Alan Pakula, Peter Greenaway, Agniezksa Holland, Istvan szabo, MiraNair, Tom Tykwer.

Guest of Honor Filmfestival Abu Dhabi

George Sluizer is invited and Guest of Honor at the Middle East International Film Festival in Abu Dhabi in October 2008 . The Palestinian film authorities celebrate the 60 year struggle for a Palestinian State, and wish to thank George Sluizer for the three films he made between 1974 and 1983 (Land of the fathers, A Reason to go, Adios Beirut) and his commitment to the Palestinian cause.

Creative Advisor ScripTeast program Poland

Darius Jablonski, President of the Independent Film Foundation and Violetta Kaminska, Managing Director of scripTeast, a training program for experienced scriptwriters from Central and Eastern Europe, have invited George Sluizer as Creative Advisor for the scripTeast program which will take place next September 29 to October 5 2008 in Poland.
The session will be concluded during the 2009 Cannes Film Festival with the KRZYSZTOF KIESLOWSKI AWARD, given to the best script.
